⚡ 5 THINGS TO KNOW RIGHT NOW — BEFORE THE BELL
📉 10-YEAR YIELD 5.33% — HIGHEST SINCE 2002 — The global bond rout deepened overnight: UK 30-year gilts topped 6% for the first time since 1998, French 5Y CDS hit a 13-year high, and Italy's 10Y jumped 10 bps. Rate-sensitive sectors (XLRE, XLI, XLF) are bleeding pre-market.

🌍 MACRO BACKDROP — THE BIG PICTURE
Wall Street closed Q3 with a late fade. The S&P 500 was up nearly 0.7% at one point but ended at 7,651.54, completely erasing its gains, while the Nasdaq outperformed. On the month, the S&P 500 dropped 0.5% and the Dow fell 4.3% while the Nasdaq rose 1.9%; for the quarter, the S&P gained 2%, the Nasdaq 2.5%, and the Dow lost 2.7%. That's the defining picture DCG traders have been tracking for weeks: a split market — mega-cap AI leadership versus everything rate-sensitive. CNBC
The macro driver is yields, and it's now a global problem. Yields have climbed with few interruptions since March, when the start of the Iran conflict spurred a surge in energy prices. The Fed is in a hiking cycle: the Fed raised rates by 25 basis points to 4.0% in September. Wednesday's data helped the front end — per CME FedWatch, the probability of an October quarter-point hike fell to about 37% from nearly 51% the prior day after PCE rose 0.3% for the month, putting the 12-month gain at 3.4% versus 3.7% expected. But the long end didn't care. thestreet
Post-close vs. close — what changed overnight: The narrative flipped from "soft PCE relief" to "AI catalysts vs. global bond panic." U.S. stock futures rose Wednesday evening as Micron's bumper earnings reinforced the AI trade, though caution over soaring yields and upcoming labor data capped gains. Then Europe opened into a bond rout — UK 30-year gilts at 6.029% (highest since 1998), French 20Y OAT auction clearing at 5.4% vs. 4.74% prior, and the FTSE down 1.6%. ES held its bid anyway at ~7,733, which tells us AI buyers are absorbing the yield pressure for now. New leading theme: AI compute infrastructure (memory, cloud leasing, data centers). New lagging theme: anything that borrows money — Industrials, REITs, Financials.

🤖 STOCK MARKET NEWS — SECTOR BY SECTOR
🔥 HOT SECTOR #1: 🧠AI MEMORY & SEMICONDUCTORS
Micron's guide confirms memory is still supply-constrained
Micron guided first-quarter revenue to $61.5 billion, plus or minus $1.5 billion, against a consensus of $56.77 billion. Long-term supply agreements rose to $32 billion from $22 billion in June, and HBM demand for AI data centers continues to outstrip capacity. The guide is enormous, but the stock's after-hours reaction was muted — Micron projected Q1 capex of around $11.5 billion and first-half FY27 capex of roughly $25 billion, and Bloomberg noted rising compensation would weigh on margins. TradingTerminal shows MU -0.32% pre-market. That means the stock is pricing in a lot; the cleaner trade may be the sympathy names that haven't moved yet. Bloomberg
