Blu Dot surpasses 2,000% ROAS with self-serve CTV ads
Home furniture brand Blu Dot blew up on CTV with help from Roku Ads Manager. Here’s how:
After a test campaign reached 211,000 households and achieved 1,010% ROAS, the brand went all in to promote its annual sales event. It removed age and income constraints to expand reach and shifted budget to custom audiences and retargeting, where intent was strongest.
The results speak for themselves. As Blu Dot increased their investment by 10x, ROAS jumped to 2,308% and more page-view conversions surpassed 50,000.
“For CTV campaigns, Roku has been a top performer,” said Claire Folkestad, Paid Media Strategist, Blu Dot. “Comping to our other platforms, we have seen really strong ROAS… and highly efficient CPMs, lower than any other CTV partner we've worked with.”
Using Roku Ads Manager, the campaign moved from a pilot to a permanent performance engine for the brand.

⚡ 5 THINGS TO KNOW RIGHT NOW — BEFORE THE BELL
🛢️ Brent Crude Breaks $100/bbl — First time since July 23, up ~43% since July 2, after the U.S. destroyed five more Iranian oil tankers overnight and Iran retaliated with missiles toward Jordan. This is THE story of the morning.
Upgrade now to get ALL 5 things to know!!!!
🌍 MACRO BACKDROP — THE BIG PICTURE
This is a HEADLINE-DEPENDENT session, full stop. Tuesday's tape told the story: the Dow lost 628 points (-1.18%) to 52,786.07, the S&P slid 0.58% to 7,673.52, and the Nasdaq eased 0.32% to 26,421.41 as oil-driven inflation risk collided with an already-jittery market coming off Friday's hot jobs print. WTI has now rallied for six straight sessions — its longest streak since March — and overnight the story went vertical: Brent cleared $100 a barrel for the first time since July 23 after the U.S. hit five more Iranian oil tankers and Iran fired back with missiles toward Jordan.
The defining macro theme right now is the collision between geopolitical energy risk and Fed policy. Strong labor data has traders pricing meaningful odds of a September rate move, and now $100 oil threatens to keep inflation stickier for longer — a combination that pressures both equity multiples and bond yields simultaneously. The 10-year sits at 4.81%, and the S&P's forward P/E has actually compressed from ~21x in June to ~19x today even as the index holds up ~12% year-to-date, meaning earnings strength is doing real work to offset the multiple compression.
Overnight, the narrative shifted from "will the Fed hike" to "how contained is the Strait of Hormuz risk." UKMTO advisories of vessels taking "disabling fire" in the Arabian Gulf and a fresh incident near Port Rashid, UAE, tell DCG traders this is not a one-and-done headline — it's a live, evolving risk that will move ES, oil, and defense/energy names tick-by-tick through the week. Layer in a live U.S.–Canada trade dispute and Friday's CPI print, and this is a three-front macro week: geopolitics, trade, and inflation data, all converging in the same 96 hours.
Trader awareness: Do not fade oil-driven volatility with size today. This is a headline tape — manage risk accordingly.

Oil War Premium Is Back — And It's Real
Brent's break above $100 for the first time since July 23 isn't a blip — it's the culmination of a six-day WTI rally (the longest since March) driven by an actual shooting war around the Strait of Hormuz. This is now up ~43% off the July 2 lows per the Kobeissi Letter, and the fundamental driver — U.S. strikes on Iranian tankers, Houthi attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities, and UKMTO-confirmed vessel incidents — shows no sign of resolving overnight. Morgan Stanley's Brendan Ross flagged that oil traders are actively de-risking longer-dated exposure and concentrating positions in the next 3-6 months, which itself is adding to volatility in longer-dated contracts.
XOM closed Tuesday at $160.66, up modestly even as the broader tape sold off, and management has already flagged accelerating Guyana investment recovery and a doubling of 2030 free cash flow targets — the fundamentals are lining up with the macro tailwind.
